Youssef
Abied

Network & Infrastructure / Computer Science Student

Hi, I'm Youssef. I like figuring out how things work, then building something with what I learned.

right nowOpen to project-based and freelance work, and to an internship, alternance or junior role - whichever comes with the more interesting problem i'll solve it.

Things I'm building

pick a page

Systems, stories, and the space between them.

the common thread is curiosity.

Based in Morocco 🐪, I'm a computer science student focused on networking, hardware, development and virtualization. I like working close to the system: seeing how a network behaves, deploying the pieces around it, then building something that makes an idea easier to achieve or to understand. As you may have noticed, portfolio UI isn't quite my thing - so I kept it simple and wrote this one with pen, paper and a few polaroids.

what I work on
  • networking + hardware
  • infrastructure + virtualization
  • game development
  • backend development
languages
  • French - professional
  • English - B2
  • Arabic - native

What I built to understand networks.

start with the hard-to-see parts.

01N9PINAX
what I wanted to understand

How do you build a useful picture of what is happening on a local network? N9PINAX is a SIEM-inspired platform for discovering and monitoring network assets.

what I built

I built the discovery engine around ARP, ICMP, TCP SYN and UDP probes, then added vendor identification, OS fingerprinting, device classification and hostname resolution.

what it does

Host discovery. Port and service scanning. MAC vendor lookup. Topology mapping. Report generation. Scriptable & extensible.

different rules, same debugging instinct.

01Lo3ab Makers
the chapter

Lo3ab Makers is the GameDev club I represented at X-Ibition, an event bringing together UM6P clubs at Benguerir. Game jams became a place to make, test and learn quickly.

The ones that came with a grade.

defended out loud, every time.

1337 Coding School has no teachers. You build the project alone, then defend it in person to other students who try to break it - and their verdict is the grade. These are the curriculum projects I have finished so far, in the order they were signed off.

LibftNov 2025
A C standard library rewritten from scratch memory, strings, linked lists.
125
get_next_lineJan 2026
Reading one line at a time from any file descriptor, buffer by buffer.
125
ft_printfJan 2026
Implementation of the same exact behavior of the printf function, learning how to handle variadic functions (va_list / va_start / va_arg / va_end),

A hardened secure Linux server using Rocky Linux: disk encryption with LUKS, logical volume management (LVM), firewall and SSH....

push_swapMar 2026
Sorting two stack using greedy best-move approach, in just few moves as the algorithm follows.

A-Maze-IngApr 2026
A 2D maze generator and solver, written in Python using Wilson's algorithm.

how a grade happens
  • build it alone
  • defend it out loud
  • graded by peers
125 = outstanding
  • 4 of 6 at 125
  • all peer-validated
from the evaluations
“great job - I like your fun project and your energy 🐪”rben-ais · A-Maze-Ing
“good explanation, and the first Rocky user I evaluated”bzoufri · Born2beroot
“he understood the core concept of exceptions and raising of errors”amissa · module 02
the Python run
  • 11 of 11 validated
  • 100 on every one
  • 31 Mar - 24 Apr 2026

What i use to move around.

not a stack. more like a map.

01QasbahLabs

Working with a remote team at QasbahLabs through Discord and Google Meet, following Scrum/Agile practices. Testing backend logic, automation scripts, UI behaviour and basic security checks on a confidential project, alongside functionality and gameplay quality for a game development project.

Tasks and bugs are tracked in Jira; test and process documentation lives in Markdown on GitHub.

what I'm looking for

Mostly project-based and freelance work - building, testing or documenting something small and real, with a clear end. I'm also open to internships, work-study opportunities, or junior roles in networking, infrastructure or backend work.

Based in Morocco, used to working remote with a distributed team over Discord, Jira and a lot of written notes. I read every message; I answer the specific ones first.
